THE AZEKAH INSCRIPTION

ARCHAEOLOGICAL AND HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE

The Azekah Inscription is a tablet inscription from the reign of Sennacherib (705 to 681 BC).
It describes an Assyrian campaign by Sennacherib against Hezekiah, King of Judah, including the conquest of Azekah.
The Biblical Significance: The reliability of biblical accounts like 2 Kings 18-19 and Isaiah 36-37 in documenting Assyrian invasions
